APHA Broodmares

All great horses come from great mothers

When we started to put our Paint Horse program together in 1993 we focused on finding very solid mares in pedigree, conformation and sound minds. This criteria lead to a focus on foundation bloodlines, the heart and the soul of the APHA. The versatility of the all around horse attracted us to pedigrees including the following bloodlines Yellow Mount, Jocita Bars, Scribbles, Mardelle Dixon, and Mr Norfleet. This search lead us too many different States in the U.S. and we found an excellent group of young mares and fillies, all sired by APHA champion horses. When we found our senior herd sire Kenos Golden Legacy (Son of APHA all around Champion, Far Ute Keno) in 1998 we knew we had the stallion to match our equally powerful mares and take us to the next level.

Fads in color may come and go, but our Lifetime Membership in the APHA proves our commitment to raising top quality paint horses for many years to come.

Dixons Miss Kitty

1993 Sorrel Overo Mare

One of the few mares that made it to Canada out of the great broodmare sire Mardelle Dixon. Kit has been an awesome producer for us and we now have a few of her daughters in our broodmare band. See our gelding Sale page to see some of her offspring. 2007 outstanding sorrel overo filly by Kenos Golden Glo. Big, thick 2008 stud colt by Kenos Golden Glo will be in a future production sale. Another Scribbles mare that is an excellent producer. Two of her daughters are now in our broodmare band. See our Sales pages for some of her other offspring. Her 2008 palomino overo filly sold in our production sale. Bred to Kenos Golden Legacy for 2010.

Far Way From Utah

1996 Sorrel Mare

We picked this mare out as a baby in Utah and she has turned into an outstanding producer. Dam of our junior stallion, Kenos Golden Glo. Bred to Kenos Golden Legacy for 2010.

Fleet Lady Red

1999 Sorrel Mare

Lady is a 100% color producer to date. Her outstanding foals are often some of the first ones picked out each year. Three of her offspring have sold to Quebec. Her 2008 filly now resides in France. Bred to Kenos Golden Legacy for 2010.

Prison Guard

1997 Sorrel Overo Mare

Another home raised mare that has produced 100% color and quality. Her gorgeous, loud sorrel overo 2008 colt by Carbon Copy Jac sold in our Production Sale to Alberta. Bred to Carbon Copy Jac for 2010.

Beau Cita Sioux

1994 Sorrel Mare

A granddaughter of Yellow Mount, the APHA’s first Supreme Champion. Her sire APHA Champion Cita Mount is a son of the great broodmare Jocita Bars as well.  Produces foals with outstanding dispositions. 2007 free moving sorrel colt by Kenos Golden Glo. Her 2008 sorrel colt by Kenos Golden Legacy will be in a future production sale. Bred to Kenos Golden Glo for 2010.

Splash of Cita

1995 Sorrel Mare

Another very consistent producer sired by APHA Champion Cita Mount. Her tall, stretchy filly sold in our Production Sale. Bred to Kenos Golden Legacy for 2010.

2000 Palomino Overo Mare

A young home raised mare that is proving her worth. She has two fillies that will be on our Sales Page, if you are looking for disposition plus, check her daughters out. 2007 sweet sorrel overo filly by A Real Wizard. Her loud colored palomino overo filly sold in our Production Sale to Quebec. Her 2009 palomino overo colt is at the ranch as a future prospect with hopes of being shown in 2010. Bred to Carbon Copy Jac for 2010.

Kenos Golden Diamond

2002 Red Dun Mare

Another home raised Legacy daughter out of one of favorite mares that was an outstanding producer, Diamond is a keeper. We have kept her 2006 red dun filly by Security Guard for a broodmare. Diamond produced an awesome red dun colt in 2009 that will be held back as a future prospect. Bred to Kenos Golden Legacy for 2010.

Great mare to ride with a great pedigree as well. Another home raised mare. Her loud colored palomino overo filly sold in our Production Sale to Quebec. Bred to Kenos Golden Glo for 2010.

Dixons Dazzling Doll

An excellent home raised mare out of a super producing Mardelle Dixon daughter. Dazzle will spend some time as a saddle horse at our ranch before being put into our broodmare band.

Sparklin Gold Diamond

2006 APHA Red Dun Mare

Sherry is the last foal out of Security Guard. The maternal side of her pedigree goes back to our excellent producing Skedadle Chick daughter. Bred to Far Out Dixon, our new black overo stallion for 2010.

Kenos Splash Of Gold

2006 APHA Palomino Overo Mare

Gold is a tall, flashy minimal marked mare that has a full sister being shown on the APHA circuit that currently has 29 APHA points in trail, western horsemanship, showmanship at halter, and hunt seat equitation. Bred to Far Out Dixon our new black overo for 2010.

Pretty Little Legacy

2006 APHA Palomino Overo Mare

Precious is a daughter of our senior herd sire, Kenos Golden Legacy and out of the great producing mare, TH Shadow, a ROM  Western Pleasure Producer. Shadow was a key contributor to our breeding program and her daughters are proving to continue her legacy. Bred to Carbon Copy Jac for 2010.

Sweet Shadow Dee

2006 APHA Palomino Tobiano/Overo Mare

A granddaughter of the legendary Tin Man, APHA Champion, Superior Halter, Superior Western Pleasure. She is another of our outstanding TH Shadow daughters. Sweety produced a beautiful sorrel sabino overo filly in 2009 out of Checotah Gun that sold in our Production Sale to  Quebec, and has since gone to live in Belgium. Sweety is bred back to Checotah Gun for 2010

This young mare's pedigree is loaded with APHA Champions and all time greats of the APHA breed. She is a half sister to our junior herd sire Kenos Golden Glo who is producing very smart, athletic and most important excellent disposition in his foals. Bred to Kenos Golden Legacy for 2010.

Sparkle is a tall, pretty daughter of Kenos Golden Legacy that we have retained for our breeding program. She has a full sister that has sold to New Brunswick and another to Quebec. Her dam's loud colored foals are some of the most sought after at our annual Productions Sale. Bred to Far Out Dixon for 2010.

They say what is old is new again!!We raised this top quality mare and sold her as a two year old. In the fall of 2009 we had the opportunity to purchase her, so she is back home again. She is bred to King Skippa Max (loud black overo) for 2010 foal.

Honey is a proven producer of quality colored foals. A new mare to our program and as her name implies she is a honey of a mare. She is bred to King Skippa Max (loud black overo) for 2010.

Splash Me In Diamonds

2006 APHA Black Overo Mare

A top prospect we purchased in 2008 to begin our black overo program. She is a granddaughter of the great Blue Max and out of a home raised mare Pay Me In Diamonds. Bred to Far Out Dixon For a 2010 foal.

Magic is a beautiful, tall grand daughter of our favorite APHA stallion Mardelle Dixon. The Mardelle's are known for there great disposition and all around versatility. Bred to Kenos Golden Legacy for 2010.

As her dam, TH Shadow got older we retained as many of her daughter's as possible. When we were lucky enough to get a black out of Cowboy Masterpiece we were excited as to the performance and versatility her reining and cow horse bloodlines would add to our black overo program.
